The upcoming film "The Substance" is a new body horror film directed by Coralie Fargeat, who made waves with her 2017 hit "Revenge." Featuring Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid, the narrative follows a fading celebrity who resorts to a black market drug to create a younger, better version of herself. However, only one version can be conscious at a time, resulting in a series of unsettling and grotesque events.

"The Substance" rocked the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Best Screenplay award and earning tons of praise. It’s set to hit theaters in most regions on September 20, 2024, with early screenings starting September 19.

Critics are loving its bold and entertaining take on body horror, and Demi Moore’s performance is getting a lot of attention. With a 93% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s already being hailed as an instant classic in the horror genre.
