Why we started
"The Chopping Block" was born from my obsession with horror. Raised on a steady diet of slasher flicks, creature features, and psychological thrillers, I discovered that nothing beats the adrenaline rush of a good scare. But along the way, I encountered many disappointing films. That's why I decided to create a place where horror enthusiasts can find honest, in-depth reviews and recommendations
My goal is straightforward: I put horror movies on The Chopping Block to identify the the scream-worthy hits and trashing the forgettable misses.
Who we are
I'm Dominique, the founder of "The Chopping Block." My fascination with horror began at a young age when I first watched Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. From that moment, I was hooked, spending years devouring every horror movie I could find, from cult classics to the latest releases. You'll see me leading the charge on this blog!
My husband, Mackenzie, shares this passion, and together, we've turned our love for horror into this blog. Every Valentine’s Day, we celebrate with a "Saw" movie marathon and dedicate the entire month of October to a 31-day horror movie binge. Although Mackenzie takes a more behind-the-scenes role, he's very much involved in reviewing and dissecting every horror movie we watch.
As cinephiles with a special love for horror, we believe in savoring movie experiences. We've spent countless hours watching horror movies and look forward to sharing our thoughts on the ones worth watching and those worth skipping.
