The long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's Lot is finally set to premiere on Max in October 2024. Directed by Gary Dauberman, known for his work on Annabelle Comes Home and It, the film brings King's chilling vampire tale back to life with a modern twist while maintaining the eerie atmosphere of the original 1975 novel. I’m excited to see how Dauberman’s version brings fresh blood to this classic horror story! It was initially slated for a theatrical release but faced multiple delays due to various factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic. After being pushed from its original September 2022 release date to April 2023, the decision was ultimately made to release the film directly on Max.

The story follows author Ben Mears, played by Lewis Pullman, who returns to his childhood hometown of Jerusalem's Lot, only to discover that it’s being preyed upon by a malevolent vampire. As Mears investigates the dark happenings, he realizes that the town's residents are slowly turning into vampires themselves. I can’t wait to see Pullman sink his teeth into this role! In addition to Pullman, the film features an impressive cast, including Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and Pilou Asbæk. The production team also has a strong lineup, with Michael Burgess as director of photography and Nathan Barr handling the musical score.

Here's what Stephen King himself had to say about it:
